Nine trillion $ - that's our national debt as of today. Now, do we really need to wonder why our currency is going down the tubes? Let's see - if that was in miles, that would equate to 1-1/2 light years! Half way to a star!!!
So it took from George Washington to Ronald Reagan to get to $1 trillion and only a Bush, a Clinton and another Bush to get us $8 trillion more!!!! I guess we're on a roll!
It sort of reminds me of Germany after the First World War, when it took one billion German marks to buy a loaf of bread....
Let's hope it never gets to that.
