My Blog

Why ETFs???

Good portfolios should have growth positions.  And with that in mind subscribers to Income Planner get free access to another web site with specific index fund portfolios -
www.etfchoices.com  Simply use your current id and password at this second site and add the number 1 to each.  So, if your ID is save and your Password is more, then at the ETF site your ID is save1 and your Password is more1.

Naturally, I also like to see my readers get the very best deals when it comes to parking cash.  I have scoured the web and have come up with some great links, including a CD blog site that is fantastic.
Here is a list with links for you to seek the best yields today in CD's, money markets and other very safe plans.

Start
by going to the "Bank CD Blog".  Here it opens to 3 month CDs (but if you scroll down it goes to 84 month CD's along with checking accounts, etc.), but if you scroll up, you will see the daily specials from across the country.  These are UPDATED daily, so check back often.

Why to stay away from variable and equity index annuities*

Money Bulletin

*If you have an old variable annuity and you want to move to a new product with lower annual fees and no surrender penalties, look to the low cost alternative through Vanguard.  You can also do a 1035 exchange to a fixed rate or income immediate annuity - see the links above for that.  If your annuity is an IRA, just consider leaving the annuity to other investments like CD's, closed end funds, etc.
