What a week!  For the month of February, the Dow, S&P and NASDAQ each lost 4.3% from the start to the end of the month.  The Dow went from 12,653 to 12,114.  The S&P went from 1,448 to 1,387 and the NASDAQ went from 2,475 to 2,368.

How did the Income Planner portfolios do?  I wish we could say that we were able to avoid all of the carnage, however, we did very well considering.  The preliminary figures are as follows:

Portfolio   Conservative  Moderate  Aggressive

 $  20,000          (-1.4%)       (-4.2%)       (-3.1%)
 $  50,000          (-1.1%)       (-2.0%)       (-0.7%)
 $100,000          (-2.7%)       (-2.0%)       (-0.6%)

Monthly and/or quarterly dividends that were paid out during the month helped to soften the blow.  For those new to this web site, Income Planner's portfolios have a start date of February 2, 2007.  Had we waited a month, we could have bought most of our positions for a slightly lower price.  However, that allows those who are just starting out or those who have some extra funds to invest, an opportunity to purchase the same securities and receive a slightly higher yield than last month.

Also, I have included a new page in the portfolio section titled "My dividend holdings" for the subscribers that wanted to know what else I had invested in besides the selections I had made in the current portfolios.
